Someone who has A*A*A* is obviously a better candidate than someone with AAA
But no one will have A*A*A* when they start to apply for UCAS next year. Because A* is a full A-level grade only.

It may be different in two years' time, with a mixture of applicants just completed AS and those who have just finished A2 and are on gap year.

Your point is a good one, but not quite true. There are already people with A*s because a handful of examination centres trialled the new system last year.

OK then: no one will have A*A*A* save for a tiny minority .

Wonder how many of them got A*A*A* though...

They could be predicted A*A*A* though, judged on their AS results...

*Sigh* This is wrong. You need an A grade overall and 90% at A2 to get an A*. You could, theoretically get as little as 60% at AS and still get an A*.

CCEA have brought A*'s in but it seems that only the Art and Humanity teachers know anything about them as our Biology teacher just looked blank when we asked about them.

this is bad for me because i'm a sort of 'scrape' A's candidate so now more clever people will be distinguished from me... damn!

Yes, but your profile doesn't really explain why you did so many A-levels... Why didn't you just move onto getting a degree? Then when we pass Kindergarten/nursery, you could have got your PhD...

I assume getting the required UMS points in any subject results in being awarded an A*.
