sprout rates a song a day

bit of a diary i guess. like listening to new tunes and stuff so i'll try to listen to at least one new song each day (or revisit some of my faves:teehee:)

i'll rate them out of 10 and give a review if i feel like it. length of review will likely depend on my attachment to the song :rofl:

ok today we'll start with one of my favourite songs of all time

my only complaint about this song is its shortness :rofl: i love the production and lyrics in this song, the music has a sort of quick rough sound to it which i think is reflected nicely by the lyrics about the girl rushing to fix her heartbreak through unwise methods. one of my favourite songs by the 1975 :h:

pop and indie mostly but am open to new sounds. not a big hiphop and r&b fan though.

one artist i've been trying to listen to is kanye west- i did avoid him before because i don't like his character very much but i have found most of his music enjoyable. i've been working through the albums and getting one of my friends to recommend one each time :lol:

i quite liked the aggressiveness of this song and the production but lyrically i just found it a bit boring and cliche.

music reminds me of charli xcx's album charli which i very much appreciate:teehee: such a good song?? like it's so interesting to listen to and i really like the minimalistic production. lyrics are very fun and have an in the moment vibe.

lany - if this is the last time

very beautiful and serene song :redface: the lyrics make me wish i had a better and different relationship with my parents. the guitar(??) around 2:09 is lush :love: i'm so **** with goodbyes so this is just a rather sad and pretty song for me to listen to :frown: i'm a sucker for softer songs and thus lany's music is right up my street :lol:

taylor swift - new years day

one of my absolute favourites from reputation!! or one of my fave songs by her overall :heart: i love a simple piano song and taylor always does it so well. she can paint some incredibly vivid images with her lyrics and i am absolutely here for it. emotively i think this song is strong too!! definitely a song that i'd play at the end of a party, just as it's what the song is about :yep:

never listened to this song or gorillaz for that matter :laugh: production is very nice, i like slowthai's feature on it. music's great too, added it to my july playlist!

the only way i can describe this song is that it's light? troye's vocals are airy and the production is quite light too. i do have a soft spot for troye, so i'll give it a 6/10. i think the sound could be changed up in some parts.

conan gray - affluenza

an incredible song off kid krow, think it's one of my favourite tracks off the album. his vocals are lovely and i just like the lilting, sad, melancholy sound of the song. it sounds rather yearning but like they've already given up too. i love the lyrics also.
