I dunno, i did pretty similar in my mock. But then I revised quite on a lot for them. I def. would have taken my mock grades as my real ones before results day. nice work btw on the improvement.

But I think my school gives you a grade down during mocks and they don't give A*'s...stupid system really.

I honestly don't remember what I got in my mocks. It's an unfair comparison anyway as teachers dropped hints about what would come up in the mocks and I only did night-before revision for them.

At my school they refused to give A*s for the mocks in some subjects because our coursework wasn't completed then, so they were like 'well if your coursework went wrong you wouldn't get an A*, so we don't want to get your hopes up.' My French teacher in particular though this was ridiculous, since with the marks I got in my mocks I would only have needed to get about 10% in coursework to get an A* anyways.

Bit of a ramble there, I think I did a bit better in my real GCSEs than mocks.

I got worse from mocks (straight A*) to actual (3 A's, the rest A*). which is a bit frustrating when I worked harder for the real thing. oh well. congratulations OP.

Ours were marked harsh i remember.... they didnt give out A*'s and were very picky. I think i got:

    mock: ABBCCCCCDF
    real: A*AABBBBBBC

the biggest improvement being History- an F to a B

yeah, I can imagine that its common place to undergrade mocks so that pupils try harder for the real things - I was given a D for geography but ended up with an A*
Same. My geography teacher was the strictest marker ever. You'd write pretty much perfect points, but he just wouldn't mark them. He had me tearing out my hair when I got consistent Es and Ds in class, but I got an A*

    Maybe it's a strategy..

Though my mocks were all not proper papers (most had been scaled down) I got 2A* one in Biology (only part of double award) and another in History. Also got As in english(x2) only a few marks of the top grade; I really thought I could get it..Oh well.

I also got quite a few Bs, but none of those in the real deal!

Why do you complain, I mean you got better. Its not like most (including you) don't have them in their profile anyway...
