I do AQA A-Level Psychology so hopefully I can offer some help!
Continuity hypothesis
This is the idea that there is consistency between early emotional experiences and later relationships. This idea is based upon the internal working model.
Internal working model
This is a mental representation of relationship with our primary caregiver and becomes a template for future relationships.
There are three main features of the internal working model:
(1) a model of others as being trustworthy.
(2) a model of the self as valuable.
(3) a model of the self as effective when interacting with others.
