Self Teaching Computer Science GCSE?

Hi, so I'm a Year 10, and about to go into Year 11 in September. I have been hugely regretting not taking Computer Science as one of my options, but as my school does three year long GCSEs it's now too late for me to join the classes. Because of this I am now planning to teach myself the the subject and sit the exam along with the rest of my GCSEs.
I am currently only taking one option (so seven GCSEs total) so I'm not too worried about learning two years worth of material in one year.
I was wondering if anybody had any experiences and/or advice with either self teaching GCSE Computer Science or studying a GCSE in only one year?

What exam board. How are you going to do the coursework?

Exam board is AQA. Making arrangements with my school for me to do the programming project in my timetabled self study time to ensure that it's completed within proper guidelines (as I assume that's what you meant).

Yeah that’s what I meant. I did OCR but I doubt there’s much difference, it’s possible to do it seeing as I found it a really easy Gcse - I don’t have a grade yet tho. Two resources I’d advise to use are the teach ict website and the cgp cs workbook.

I had to ‘self-teach’ in some sense because I transferred into a new school for year 11. The exam board changed from edexcel to ocr and also I hadn’t been taught well/studying well in year 10 so many of the content was new to me.

It is a little difficult to self-teach in that there are quite few resources out there, but I would recommend getting the CGP textbooks and exam practice workbooks.
Craig and Dave is also a decent YouTube channel to learn from, though I mostly used textbooks and also a platform called Seneca.
