Around £50 a week. I eat pretty well, though..
I lived in cardiff when i was doing my alevels. I fed myself on 21 packets of tesco value noodles and a loaf of tesco value bread a week.

Saves plenty of money for tobacco and booze.

He was just a greedy swine. Don't worry, unless you're an elephant, you won't be spending that much.
i'm from england, i just chose cardiff to do them.

Also, it was a choice between that/cut down smoking and drinking/or get a job.

Yeah, Selly Oak. I shop mainly at Sainsbury's. It does get to £50 a week when including everything like random snacks, fruits, etc. And drinks that go with the food

Do you go to Brum Uni as well?

i most certainly do! best uni ever, no? God, 50 quid!! I dont think i'll need that much really, probs about 25-30?? im only little and won't really be eating that much cus I'm determined to keep up my weight loss lol!
Usually £20 sometimes over.
I've been budgeting my shopping and I spend about £25 a week, and thats comfortable living. brand names and fizzy drinks. not economy noodles.

However I have £60 a week after rent, so the excess is for materials/saving account to pay of the interest of the loan.

£15 last year but I am hoping to get it down to £10 this year with a bit of inventive coooking!
I guess I'll have about £30/week to spend on food, and then £50/week for going out.
could we extend this thread to everyones average weekly budget?
so food, toiletries, money on going out etc?

i would start my own thread but since this one's so similar...

Sainsburys funnily enough, I think tesco may be necessary for next year! I live mainly on vegetables and pasta/rice and cook everything from scratch, I bake all sorts of sweet things which saves money on chocolate etc, I also drink mainly tea which is really cheap compared to squash/fizzy things and I lived essentially on campus so I could go back to halls for lunch which saved me spending money in the cafe. I also used to wait until the shop was closing and go in to get all the reduced stuff and then freeze it, you can pick up loaves of bread for 10p and cakes for literally pennies, well worth shopping late.

I had a friend who ate VERY well from borough market (fancy pants foodie place) for about £25 a week so it is definately possible to eat cheaply in London.
I was wondering the same question... nice thread.. i hope to spen £20-30 per week. Going to try and get my parents to take me to the supermarket when they drop me off so i can get as much as possible out of their money
