To what extent was the high cost of oil to blame for the USA's growing economic problems in the years 1969-80?

so my factors for this question are obviously oil prices, stagflation, Trade inbalance+deficit and War + government action....I am stuck on how to make a judgement on this. Like can you say that one thing is the cause of all these problems?
