For me, 3-6.
Everyone is different, though. If you end up using 6-8, than I wouldnt say there is anything wrong with that. Everyone's worst period days are different in terms of how heavy or light their flow is.

theres no such thing as 'too many', you use however many you NEED to use. better than bleeding through and ruining your clothes like i've done a couple of times. so on my heaviest days I'd say I probably use around 7-8 too

I’d say it depends what type, on my heaviest days I probably also use about 5 but if I wear long pads I wear less (probably about 3-4) 6-8 is definitely not too many as long as it protects you and ur clothes

It really depends on whether you feel it's affecting your daily life? There's nothing abnormal about it but if it's causing you to feel fatigued or unwell or is just generally becoming an inconvenience then maybe talk to your doctor about your contraception choices? The injection, for example, stops most people's periods altogether or massively reduces flow. I went on it a couple of years ago and it changed my life. Before this, I would say I was using a similar amount on probably 2-3 days of a 5 day period.

Is there any reason you don't use tampons (or even better, a moon cup)? Honestly. I started my periods when I was 12, and moved onto tampons at about 15, and I was absolutely amazed. I used to hate going to school when I was on, as I was quite heavy, but with tampons you literally don't know you're on at all. I then went home for lunch and changed it, then the next one would last me until I got home later.

Switching to a moon cup at the age of 25 changed my life once again. They hold SO much, and don't dry you out in the same way as tampons do.

Tampons are horrible and dry me out, not to mention I need to wear a panty liner anyway as I’m paranoid I’ll still leak. Mooncups - tried it and it wasn’t for me

Anyways to answer OP’s question I would go through about 6/7 on a heavy day.

i dont think there is such thing as 'too many' or 'too little' - everyone's flow is different, and it depends on what products you use.

on my heaviest day (day 2) i go through about 3, and then 1 big one at night.

About 12 at least. I have suspected fibroids, so have sudden uncontrollable flooding.
