I am thinking of studying BETEC level 3 in applied sicence. the 1 st year will be equivalent to a foundation diploma with the second equivalent to an extended diploma. can I get into uni with just the foundation diploma - I am thinking of studying veterinary nursing at FdSc - or will i need to go onto year 2

You should probably check the entry requirements for the course of specific unis you want to apply to. But having done a quick google search they all seem to require the extended diploma, so you'll have to do year two its seems.

If it's unclear, you could always contact the university's admissions department. They'll usually respond to an email within a few days.
