The rule is half your age plus seven. That is well within the established rules of age gaps.

1-4 years difference is fine
but when u were young teens it would be weird
imagine a 14 year old with a 18 year old
or a 12 year old with a 16 year old

Except it doesn't really hold any relevance in the real world, particularly if it's between two consenting adults
