I'm starting an EPQ right now, and I'm quite excited to research about a topic I'm very passionate about, which is genetic engineering with CRISPR-Cas9, but I'm a bit unsure whether my topic idea is 'good enough' considering I'm aiming for an A/A*.
It's 'Should CRISPR-Cas9 be used to bioengineer transgenic pigs for xenotransplantation?'
My worry is that it's too linear or will be too descriptive of the technologies. My original plan for the structure would be to introduce CRISPR-Cas9 + how it would be used to edit the pigs, evaluate challenges + ethics (which there are a lot of) and come to a conclusion. But I feel like there would be too much description and not enough evaluation, so I was thinking I could evaluate other technologies which have been used to engineer pigs past/present/future + compare them, although I don't know a lot about other techniques.
I'm pretty set on CRISPR-Cas9 being my topic, but I'm open to any suggestions to modify my topic otherwise, although I would preferably just like advice on how to structure my essay to ensure I'm being evaluative and that it's worthy of an A/A*.
Sorry if I'm not making much sense, I'm a bit burnt out for other reasons
