Im so jealous, I wish I was in halls again, sooo much fun !

Well they set the fire alarms off once a term VERY early in the morning for practice (im talking 6 or 7am !) so be prepared haha

Your building has only 2 sets of flats, so you guys will be on top of flat 13, where as all the other Chalvington buildings have 3 sets of flats in them.

You get 2 toilets, 2 showers and a bath to share between the 6 of you...ummm...a sink area in your bedroom. The bedrooms are nice, spacious. If your layout is anything like what mine used to be its nice : )

Awesome thanks for your reply nahny01. Im well looking forward to it, Been talking to a couple of my future flatmates on facebook and they seem nice, just hope my other flatmates arnt complete antisocials!

One thing.. How good are the buses into town? My course is at grand parade which i believe is like 3 miles from varley. (phoenix halls were my first choice, varley was my 3rd). Also how expensive are they?

Is the student bar (varbar?) any good? Anything else I should be aware of before I move up on the 27th? Im trying to think of stuff that I might need to take with me..

I was worried about what my flatmates were going to be like, and fortunately they were all great, we were like a little family once we left, they are really good friends of mine ! I promise you will have someof the funniest moment happen in your life when you are in halls, its such a laugh !

The buses are good, they come every 20 minutes... its the 24. Or you can walk down the hill and get the 25 which come more frequently. Its £3.20 for a city saver, which allows you to go everywhere in Brighton for that amount and lasts you the day. But a few of my friends who had to travel to Grande Parade got bus passes, which are 10 pound for a week, 100 pound for 3 months or 300 pounds for the year i think...something very similar to that.

Im not going to lie...the var bar could be better...for freshers week its normally busy and they do plan some parties at times... but the rest of the time its quite quiet. It varies really.

I cant think of aything else really... there is a kettle there but some one will have to bring a toaster. Make sure you try and keep your kitchen and communal area tidy because they do threaten to fine you (im starting to sound parental, im sorry!) You get cleaners come once a week who clean your kitchen/communal area and your showers and hallway and stuff, but don't do your room!

Heyy I just did my first year in Brighton and unfortunately i was in Chailey but it turned out to be ok! Varbar is really good, especially on freshers week, everyone from Varley gathers there and they do themed nights which if I remember clearly we had a hawai theme! Gets really packed though so if you are planning on going always get there early. Also when I was there, there was student bar jobs which isn't such a bad idea in the evenings but try to get there before others do as you can imagine it being a popular student job :-)
