Some do, some don't. Those that don't accept General probably won't accept Critical Thinking. If you look on admissions websites it should tell you.

Not very many unis take GS.
I was forced to take it by my college, even though the unis that I applied to don't accept it.
Places like Essex will take GS in their offer, others may use it if you don't get high enough grades as a bargaining tool (maybe), and some downright don't use it.
I would say skills-wise critical thinking is good (certainly better than GS), but not sure about how widely it's accepted.

Depends on the uni tbh, I did it as 5th AS and really enjoyed it although it wasnt required for my course at uni. If you like to argue and debate then its worth taking regardless of the uni you apply to.
yer, I enjoyed it too and to be honest, even if your university doesn't accept it, it's hardly going to look bad on your UCAS form if you do well.
