Scottish universities often give unconditional offers on the basis of highers (analogous to AS levels), so they could quite plausibly give an unconditional on the basis of AS results, though I haven't actually heard of it happening. Or perhaps WhatFresh is Scottish and thus has highers?

lucky you! I haven't heard anything from them yet *sulks* I want some more offers!

if not a mistake, well done! thats brilliant and you are extremly lucky!

For such an offer (akin to Scottish Highers) it could be a four-year course (usual) or, if you get certain A2 grades, they might advance you onto the 2nd year of the 4 year course. Have another look at the prospectus / website or email them.
No, it's not a mistake; I'm scottish (Scottish Unis sometimes give unconditional offers when we're in our final school year - one of the many advantages which comes from living in the country that invented penicillin and whisky). I'm seriously considering just dropping out of school now until September

Och! That explains it, then! Is there any advantage to doing your Advanced Highers? Better grant? Better prospects after degree (employers do take A levels and their grades into account, so I guess Adv Highers might count for the same thing)

hey. i got an unconditional offer for social policy and politics, like a month after i submitted my ucas. and for some self-deprecating reason, i feel like if a school is that eager to have me, there must be something wrong with the school. still waiting for some more decisions. cheers.

Most people who get unconditional offers just see them as a good introduction to university course work. I don't think you can can a better grant from Advanced Highers though.

I have to say, I found my Unconditional offer as quite a shock... I don't believe I'm predicted to get extraordinary grades on my Baccalaureate so I couldn't really see what they were playing at at first....
but then I found three solutions to this problem:

1.) My personal statement was hands down the most amazing one they'd yet seen (well, it was good, but I really doubt it was a prodigial essay  )

OR

2.) I'm Romanian, so that means that until we join the EU in 2007 I still have to pay one of those beefy tuition fees.

OR

3.) As I've noticed there aren't that many people doing Business & Law at Edinburgh.... perhaps they're trying to fill up spaces?

It could also have been my S.A.T's, however, at 1270 points I doubt they'd be greatly impressed. No matter though, I'm not complaining

Scottish Universities give unconditionals all the time! I got 6 when I applied (Edinburgh x2, St Andrews x2, Glasgow and Heriot-Watt). Its not because your course hasn't had enough applicants, it because they feel you have already shown that you have the potential to do well. Don't put yourself down, you've done well! The only course that I don't think give unconditionals is Medicine and certain Law courses although I may be wrong
Well done!!!!!!!
