How often do you reckon we’ll be going into uni on campus this upcoming year? I’m so torn to commute or not because if lectures are going to be online commuting wouldn’t be so bad if we won’t be going in as much. I live about an hr away

I heard at the open day that it would be about 50/50 with lectures being online and labs/practical's being online. Tbh I'm unsure if I should commute or not too since I'm also about an hour away

I live in Birmingham so it'll be about a 40-50 minute bus ride for me which isn't too bad but idk if I would miss out by not living in the halls

Hi all!

A bit about myself: I have lived in Birmingham my whole life and I will be graduating from Aston University in a few months time.

Are there any questions you have regarding your courses? student life? Birmingham? or the student union?

I will be more than happy to answer them for you.

Hi Amna
My assignment have two parts, so for Individual assignment its 80% marks and for engagement activity is 20%. I have scored 47 in my individual assignment and I did pass all of my end of unit tests for the 20%. I don't know if I have failed the module or will they add 20% to my marking or not. Please help cannot wait for the Board of directors meeting.

Hi there!

Unfortunately I cannot give you a definitive answer as this will all depend on covid cases and vaccination uptake

As a student myself my personal opinion is that we will see a mix of on campus and remote working this upcoming academic year.

Something you may wish to consider when thinking about commuting is clubs and societies, as they are now holding classes again which usually take place in the evening which could make commuting tricky!

We have a page here which is regularly updated with covid information https://www2.aston.ac.uk/current-students/health-wellbeing/coronavirus

I hope this helps!

do aston plan on making a dedicated medical school building as promised in 2019?
Hi all,

Has anyone studied at Aston for psychology? I'm looking at the Aston health psychology (online) course. I would love to know about anyone's experience at Aston studying any Psychology course. Is Aston's Psychology department good? In terms of teaching, responding to emails and overall?

Hi, may I know what are the grades for MPharm entry requirements during clearing ?
Hi I’m currently attending Aston university (doing accounting and finance) and was wondering how long we have access to the lecture materials/videos from Y1? Are they removed before we start back or anything or do we have access to them through the second year too? (I still need to finish making notes) Thanks.

Hi there,

I would say the online material and online system are both really good. At the beginning of first year, all students are orientated with the system and shown how to effectively use it. The system is very user-friendly and easy to navigate, with very clear signs and headings.
In the unlikely case that you experience any issues, there's always a team at hand to help sort out any issues you might have with the system.

Hope this has helped

Hi Ethel,

Thank you for your response.

Do you think students receive sufficient support via distance learning? As in access to lectures etc? If you don't mind me asking are you studying Health Psychology via distance learning?

Thank you,

Momta
