I've been reading a lot about the No-Fap movement and I'd like some sensible opinions, please. Who's tried it? Did it/didn't it work for you? I'm 19 and I don't think I w*nk excessively (maybe once a day) but it could easily be more, especially during lockdown. I spoke to my dad quietly about it , we've always had an open relationship about this stuff, and he said it wasn't a good idea mentally and physically. Thoughts, please?

idk mate but might as well give it a go, i don’t think it’ll be bad if you tried for a short period of time. if you start to feel worse just do it lmao

Masturbation is perfectly normal and healthy, so there's no reason to stop if you don't want to. It doesn't sound like it's negatively impacting your life or anything.

You might find this article looking at some of the 'No-Fap' movement's health claims interesting: https://www.healthline.com/health/no...efits#research

Once a day is a lot dude...you would've been put to death for that frequency of fapping had you lived in Ancient Persia lol. I'm not even one of those big NoFappers, but I am very much against the porn industry and it's effects on young men. Anyways, once I realized that I was a better lover when I quit masturbating/porn, I quit for good. If I watch porn the day before and then have sex with my girlfriend, it's good but just kinda basic getting-it-done sex. Almost like we're just using each other as masturbating toys, very profane and dull and neither party is truly invested in it on a deeper level than that.
But once I dissociated and detoxed myself from porn and masturbation, it changed everything. It makes me so much more dominant and passionate in bed, I'm grabbing all over her body and manhandling her, and she can tell the difference night and day almost on a spiritual level, like she desires me far more when there's this strong "energy" between us. In fact, I think porn and masturbation is probably the biggest reason for sexual imbalances between modern relationships.

I strongly recommend against porn OP. If you have to jack it every now and then, whatever, but keep this in mind that your sexual drive has to go somewhere, and when you're not draining yourself every day, you will be far more motivated to get some and be really damn good at it.

Well I don't have a gf so being a good lover atm isn't something I'm worrying about. Is once a day a lot? I thought that was average! I'm not that big into porn either, but I have a great imagination! Lucky for me I don't live in ancient Persia then! lol Thanks for your input tho.

Masturbation is completely normal and anyone trying to persuade you to do the “no-fap” challenge is just trying to control you

Nobody is trying to control OP lol, this is such a bad take. Nobody cares whether he faps or not. We're just giving him an alternate viewpoint and sharing our experiences with NoFap. Why would I care if some random guy on TSR masturbates or not? However, he asked a question.

I think a good portion of no-fap is basically just the placebo effect in action.

Haven't done no-fap but have obviously had moments where it has been a bit before I've done it. The only real benefits I saw was that I was more sensitive down there (could be good, could be bad), felt hornier and orgasms generally felt better.
