I need confirmation that the book is wrong and that I am not just trippin'

Shape 11.1,11.2, and 11.3 should not belong in Set B, am I right?

The grey shapes must be right next to the white shape according to the answers?

I guess they're saying if it's grey and the same shape it should be next to white. So different grey shapes may be located away.
However B does not contain an example with this rule so it's a bit ambiguous at best.

Luckly I've never had to do questions like that - I'd think the people setting it were a bunch of <expletive deleted>, and probably walk out and have nothing further to do with them.

Seems fine according to the answer key; in 11.1 the grey copy of the circle is adjacent to the (original) white circle, in 11.2 there are no grey copies of "existing" (original, white) shapes, but there is a black copy of the diamond which is two spaces away from the (original) white diamond, so both fit the pattern described by them (not that I think any sane person would see that pattern immediately without specifically training for this stuff...), so both belong in set B. Per their answer key 11.3 does not belong in either set.
