On the subject of annoying things... Does anyone else find it annoying that on like, newsround etc, every time they cover anything about Northern Ireland they have to spend about 10minutes first explaining the political history and the fact it's actually part of the UK, before they even get to the story?!

They often have to clarify it for the young kids who do watch the show
But imo it's a load of crap.. David Beckham was at the Olympics!!!!!! ZOMG!!
It's true that can happen, but you realy have to pretty close to the border, and Northern Ireland isnt that small! that's why is said it was highly unlikely!

I should hope so! But I wouldn't put it past Orange based on my experiences with the bastards.

I've never been to Northern Ireland, but I read this a few months ago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Ireland-United_Kingdom_border#Mobile_phone_roaming_charges

I work for Orange(for another week anyway) and I can assure there are no handovers accross the border. The simple answer to people having problems would be to turn roaming off on their sim, or not dial when they see the network isn't their own one!
What I find annoying, is how the Isle of Man isn't included in my minutes because it's not part of the UK :-(

What degree are you taking one in common sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I phoned a company recently not realising it was in Northern Ireland. Suddenly it dawned that code was unusual so thought I'd get a large bill because of not being mainland UK. Luckily I did not receive an increased bill...Having read post on here it seems that most of you who live in Northern Ireland get very wound up at the thought of people from mainland UK not realising that all laws are the same and it is part of the United Kingdom having been stolen a few hundred years ago.The fact is that in mainland UK, be it Scotland Wales or England you can go anywhere and openly talk about politics and have a hearty discussion. In Northern Ireland you risk life and limb if you dare to talk openly on politics.Having had a girlfriend living in Southern Ireland who only ventured to the North with myself (being half Scottish and half English) for a holiday for the first time aged 55 it is very apparent when watching things like a local Orange march there's always tension and although a beautiful country you never feel at ease.Until attitudes change and silly marches cease and are replaced by non threatening traditions like Morris dancing, Northern Ireland will never be thought of as part of the UK by those not living there. And with the shambles of Parliment being run by so many inept MP's, many who are Scottish plus a large amount of all MP's being gay who couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag, have no doubt that Northern Irland surgeons will be once again be in great demand rebuilding knee caps once the thugs come lurking out the shadows again digging up their stashes of armaments, should Brexit not be resolved. So yes, calls are free and UK laws are apply, however until every citizen in Ireland realises that to carry on fighing is futile from disagreements hundreds of years ago you will not be thought of as part of the UNITED Kingdom...
