Hi, im starting uni in september I have applied for student finance ni and i was wondering will the finance be asking for proof of what you spent their grant/loan for? if so, will it affect the amount they give next year?

No they don’t ask It is yours to spend on whatever you want. The only thing that would effect how much you get next year is if your household income became higher or lower.
