This is my first year applying for training contracts, i wont be eligible to start until 2022.. just out of interest, how long does it take most firms to consider and respond to applications?
Should I follow up with them if i don't get a response? Ive applied for 3/4 firms so far and i know one in particular closed its applications almost a month ago.. does it usually take much longer?

thanks in advance!

Due to Covid-19, I imagine it may take a bit longer.

But, it also varies from firm to firm. Some firms simply reply faster than others. Some firms expressly state when they will reply(on another forum, Latham say they will respond in September to all applications). Also assuming you are applying for the direct TC apps right now, a lot of firms wait to review the spaces they have after their Vacation Schemes have concluded. So like 2-3 weeks after the deadline is perhaps usual(it was for VS applications this year for me, prior to Covid-19)

Sit tight and wait for a bit more would be my advice.
