...the word 'been', do you pronounce it like bean or bin, and does anyone know which way is correct?
B-ee-n is correct standard english. As it's spelt lol...
'bean' dunno how it is meant to be pronounced
I say it differently depending on the context.
I've always said it to rhyme with "bean"
I change. XD Sometimes it's been, somethings it's bin. xD
Depends how quickly I say it.
If I'm speaking quickly, I'm more likely to say "bin"
I say both... depending on what mood I'm in, and the sentence that it's a part of.
For example, "I've always been told" = Bin
"Ooh, he's a a bit of a has-been, if you ask me" = Bean.
I don't know which one is classed as being "right".
Depends on Context and who im talking to...
The "correct", as in Standard English, way of pronouncing it is to rhyme with bean. That's not to say that "bin" is wrong, it's just a (often regional) variation.
It's been ages since I used that word.
That's so something I've never even thought of before. I say 'bin' but do sometimes say 'bean'. 'Have you bin to the shop yet?'
'I've bean but not found anything.'
Haha, how crazy. Thanks for pointing it out. :P
I say 'bean'- maybe it's because I'm northern...
