ok understood, i guess it means they saw the 3 maths a levels as categorically having the same massive bunch of content, just separated out into separate a levels conventionally (and to have manageable chunks). the new exam papers are more challenging tho, to what extent do you think the modular exams had broader coverage of content?
I think you are supposed to cover the same amount of content. When you go from 6 exams down to 3, I'm not sure the examinations are really comparable as naturally they have to leave some things that would've been in say a PC1/2 exam. If they made the exams 3 hours like university exams I think it could be possible to examine students of the new style on all the things that were in the old exams. But I know 3 hours is a long time to be seriously thinking so this probably would not be great at A-level. Also having to be examined on something I did one and a half years ago to me is just strange which is another reason I don't like the new exams. You used to be able to take exams in the winter so you could get Core 1 out of the way pretty quickly.
