Hi all,
I am taking AS German next year. And we have been told to buy one of those massive Collins dictionaries to keep at home. I am looking to get a really great grade like an A or an A* in it, and perhaps take it to uni with another subject, as I love the country and the language feels so natural. Anyway I am stuck on which dictionary to buy, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Collins-Unab...9952151&sr=8-4

or this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Collins-Germ...9952151&sr=8-1

I really don't get what the difference is. Can someone enlighten me please.

Thanks inn advance.

The former is a newer edition. It won't make any difference.

Dictionaries get compiled, but are often too big to sell, so they then get "abridged" (shortened) to make smaller pocket dictionaries and stuff. Unabridged means you're getting the full dictionary. And as I said, both are fine; the yellow one looks to be a newer edition, but I have the black one and it's fine.
