Doctors to be (BBC iPlayer)

Not too sure about where to put this as it is generally aimed at those who are thinking about a medical career. So I am sorry if this is in the wrong place.

"Doctor's to be" is back on BBC iPlayer. For the uninformed it a series of television shows that shows an insider's look at medicine as a career and shows what has become of several medical students from the 1980's. Whether they survived and went on to do what they wanted to do in life or whether the system chewed them up.It is shows it all and gives and insight on how this has impacted on the personal lives of those involved.

So if you are too lazy to do any real work experience or whatever then go and check it out.

Just joking but still good and definitely worth a watch. Just thought you all should know.

Yes, why not?

Here is a link for the health and well being section of iPlayer. There are currently only two episodes available one about a colorectal surgeon and the other about a radiologist.

I watched these earlier, they were quite interesting :smile:

There's also a couple of other medical type documentaries on iplayer at the moment although you may have already seen them on the tv :smile:

You mean "Super Doctors" ?
It has been quite good so far but don't get me started on Darzi's robotic ward round. Lord Winston was clearly unimpressed.

There's also the "Blood and Guts" history of surgery one and there was an episode of "Medical Mavericks" about self experimenting anaesthesiologists(sp?) (although some of those might be repeats)

I'm also really enjoying the current Blood and Guts History of Surgery series at the moment. Some of the beginnings of surgery were really quite barbaric! I missed tonight's SuperDoctors though :frown:
