Basically, I want to travel to Venezuala for a couple of months at the beginning of next year, possibly to improve my (currently rusty gcse standard) Spanish (through cheap lessons?) and/or get involved with some (conservation?) volunteering.

Clearly, I don't have a clear plan yet, so I was wondering if anyone who has done something similar could give me any advice on places to look at visiting (preferably cooler regions if I'm doing work!) or organisations to contact...

    Thankyou

Also, a lot of places that take on conservation volunteers also offer REALLY cheap Spanish lessons. Sorry I can't offer a link but if you just google for "Venezuela conservation volunteer" then those placements will come up and most of them offer lessons

The town of Merida in Los Llanos is a great place to do that sort of thing. Not sure what orgs you'd go with though. And make sure you get an official taxi from Caracas airport.
