    I bought a Sony k850i from a friend
    working all fine and everything
    i was on my bike, and the handle bar smashed the screen
    i can still see the menu and things but it is very very messed up
    t-mobile says i need proof of purchase, which my friend doesnt have
    i HAVE to pay 40 quid to get it repaired:mad: :mad: :mad:
    im very p***ed off about this, is there anything i can do? the proof or purchase is a *****, i need that then the repair will be free...

    If they paid by card, some places will use that to find when it was brought by checking the time against their records.
    The time and date will be on the bank statement usually.

    can he give me a bill for a month?

    get your friend to call tmobile customer services. o2 can usually like.. find a POP from the imei number of the phone. dont see why tmobile would be any different.

    actually, the reason youd be paying for the repair would be because accidental damage is not covered under manufacturers warranty, surely?

    probably not because it doesnt say when that handset was brought. it has to have imei number and purchase date on it.

    WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!
    i called t-mobile ( their support line is **** )
    and they said IMEI IS a proof of purcahse, they put me on hold for 20 mins, to get my number, they then HUNG UP THE LINE!
    i called again, and they said it ISNT a proof of purchase.
    I NEED the recipte or warrantee which i have neither, WHAT CAN I DO!! PLEASE HELP MEE!!

    Looks like your only option is to get it repaired.

    Maybe it will be cheaper from somewhere else? Search mobile phone repairs on google or something.
