They are one of the newest and youngest games I began to play as a matured adult. The ones I listed are games I played since a kid! they have a higher appreciation as Castlevania and Super Ghouls and Ghosts. What about your favorites?

You have a long list too. Am I right in thinking that most of these games are made for PC?

If I'm allowed to list 20, I'm going to take full advantage of that! :p: All are for PC apart from the Top 5, which are for the original Game Boy or Game Boy Colour - the only consoles I've ever owned were handheld, and I shifted increasingly toward PC games as I got older.

Could it be that you like simulation games in which you building up cities to grow the numbers of citizen? Is Pharaoh + Cleopatra such a game?

It is indeed. I wouldn't say they're my favourite genre these days, but that particular city building series by Impressions Games were a big part of my childhood, and I still enjoy going back to them every now and then. Pharaoh and its expansion Cleopatra are *mostly* only my favourites due to my preference for ancient Egypt, though I would say that the earlier games (Caesar 1-3) are more basic, while the later Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom dumbed things down again; Pharaoh and Zeus fall into the 'just right' middle ground for me.

First of all thanks that you have finally listed your favorite games.

Super Mario All-Stars is a good remake and did the transition from 8-bit of the NES to 16-bit of the SNES in a very good quality. :yep:

Why no love for FF15 and FF7 remake?

Personally I was quite disappointed with FF12, The real time battle system was just very poor imo.
Square, did a better job with the FF13 one, and also FF15 and FF7 remake

I haven't played either FF15 or FF7 remake (or FF13). I actually have FF15 on my PC but haven't gotten round to it for some reason.

I think the reason why I was so, so pleasantly surprised by FF12 was because it was at that time that I was just getting into MMORPGs. I actually didn't like traditional turn-based and random encounter RPGs before that due to an extreme lack of patience. I think that really cemented my love for FF12 even though the story became increasingly tough to get invested in.

I somehow managed to soldier through FF10 prior to that because of its exceptional story. After a few years, I watched all the cutscenes of FF10 on YT and realised that I actually had a better time watching it than playing it when I was younger.

It's only when I finished high school etc that I properly started playing turn-based RPGs like DQ. That said, I still find complete random encounters a slog, which is probably why DQ9 was one of my favourite games ever.

I'm familiar with Okami, it's a very likeable game by clover and holds up really well. In previous top games threads, I've noticed some users include Okami.
My save file requires attention, I left it around a third of the way through. I'll complete it some day! One criticism, i don't like backtracking every now & again.
