I"ve recently found someone on facebook who I used to be close to years ago. I was engaged to another man at the time ( have since married him), so nothing happened but I have always wondered what happened to the man I had to leave behind. I am really tempted to contact him but I am scared of his reaction. What do you people reckon, do I message him or do I leave him in the past?.

why do you want to contact him? if its just to have a friend then go for it. but if theres other reasons behind it: leave it.

Agree with the post above, you're able to understand enough what you would want to establish by making contact with him again. If it's just purely and truly because you wanna find out what he's doing with himself, then that's cool. But you're married now, so make sure there's no other reason/ulterior motives behind wanting to communicate with him.

    Dont contact him!

Same thing happened to me recently through Bebo, I got back in contact with an ex. We started chatting and emailing, then texting, and the chat turned into dirty chat....and I almost lost everything....dont do it!

I think this is probably just a case of Facebook-induced-nostalga. Most people have probably sat on Facebook, found an old friend/someone in their past that they had feelings for and wondered 'what if'.

The simple answer to the question, as dh said above, if it is for just an extra friend/someone to catch up with, then go for it. If you want to act on the old feelings ... well, nothing happened back then, there is no guarantee that anything will happen now, and in this case, the loses probably outweigh the gain.

I"d only want to contact him as a friend though. I love my partner far too much to do anything behind his back. I also wonder what the other guys reaction will be he could tell me to get lost.

Its entirely up to you. But if you're having to think about it this much then maybe you should leave it. There can't be much harm in just saying hi and if he doesnt want to know then thats that..dont let it get to u.
