i applied to UCL got offer, but admission told me it will be 100% study. Should i go ahead? i just finished my undergraduate got great result and planning to start my master in this september. Honestly i dunno if i can concentrate without being there. I lived in Scotland so a bit far away and sadly still living in my parent house, i did my undergraduate at a different place and was great, make lot of friends , go out and have fun. Now my dream is to go UCL and do the same thing but i will be staying in my room ( at parent house) with no friends and only stare in front of my PC . What should i do?? Is all unis master degree be 100% online? They didn't even update the website saying it will be 100% so i wasted the time to apply without knowing this important information.

You have three options:
1) Accept your place and do it all online;
2) Request to defer your place in the hopes that the next academic year (21/22) will be in-person;
3) Give up your place at UCL and apply elsewhere for 20/21 entry.

The second option does have the caveat that you'll need to fill your year somehow - you don't want to be sat twiddling your thumbs. The third option also has issues in that other universities could also be doing the whole masters degree online.

Thanks for the help. I am considering second option. Do you know what i can do to fill out the year with a Computer Science BSc degree? I try searching for jobs but is very limited and competitive, i want to do a master to specialise in one specific area which is Bioinformatics. Is there any research programme offer by University that allow student with a BSc degree(No work experience) to do? Do those get paid or generally no?

Btw guys i paid £80 for the application and it's non-refunable. However, the website (still the same) did not specify it will be 100% online and actually require to attend. So it's possible to refund back?

Find out if they will allow you to defer first, and then go from there. Apart from jobs, volunteering is another option, or getting more relevant qualifications during that year. Universities usually require research assistants to have at least a MSc/MA, if not a PhD, so you don't really have an opening there.

I doubt it tbh, as they aren't changing it on a whim but because of the global situation.
