From what I understand, there's only one student railcard? Which gives you a third off travel after 10am, and a third off before 10am when you spend £12 so it basically depends on what times you'll be travelling. I was in uni for 9am this year so it wouldn't have been beneficial for me as I caught the train at half 7 in the morning and tickets were less than £12.

Alternatively you could get a weekly or monthy travel pass?

Hi Loulou2223,

It might be worth looking as to whether you get one with your student bank account as I believe santander offer them with their accounts!
