I know some people never do and others are still best friends with people from their old school. I’m hoping me and my friends will stay close

I'm going into my 3rd year of university and I only speak to one of them. It's normal to drift apart especially as you become busier as you get older.

I admit i'm bad at keeping up with people. Thankfully, I'm somewhat in touch with some of them.

I'm in my second year of uni and only talk to one of them, and very infrequently at that. I have almost a dozen on Snapchat but most I haven't been in contact with since before I started uni. In my final days of sixth form I stated I wanted to try and add as many as I could; my surge of confidence at the time masking the inevitability my wanting to keep connected to them in some way would never go more than just being on my friends list. I even accidentally ghosted one of them by me not noticing they'd Snapchated me until three weeks after the fact; by then I decided it would be too awkward to respond so just didn't.

I started watching 13RW recently and that kinda inspired me to maybe get back in touch with them and explain why I just cut off all contact (mostly social ineptitude/anxiety-related; that I felt I'd be bothering them if I did - which I felt I did in person during school/sixth form quite a bit - and find it hard to open up to people beyond superficial, vague messages), but it didn't come to anything. Maybe it's slightly toxic and exploitative, but the non-contact just doesn't really bother me and I'm someone that just likes the thought of maybe having them there but, maybe to their disappointment and them taking umbrage, I just don't need to be in contact with them, messaging them often/every day; I'm a modern-day enigma in that and I think only some of them understand.

No, after prom night that was basically it for majority then the remaining few I lost contact once I left sixth form. I had really bad social anxiety growing up which hampered the friendships I did have. I am tempted to create a Facebook account and search names but seeing people who have their lives together would be kinda depressing. I'm 25 so some folk would be married and have kids.
