Rubbish top 1% in this country make up about 23% of the tax take, the rich will just move away to another country then instead of 23% you get nothing!
Clearly they don't move.....

Clearly they will if you want to punify them even more! Again only fools work in the UK... They pay tax what about dealing with the millions on welfare in this country that have never paid any tax in their life?!!

Old adage the reason socialism fails is eventually you run out of spending other peoples money

This person clearly can’t see the amount of defaults on debts and mortgages that would happen which would then cause a financial crash on top of harming a recovery by a consumer economy having consumers with no money.
Freeze the debt and mortgages instead and give people benefits or rations.

I'm still not sure how you think this is a worse outcome than having half the workforce simply sacked and dumped on the dole though?
Why would they get sacked for an extended holiday?

Its people like you that want to nullify any incentive to work hard and get on in life. Its the idle millions that are a drain on society what about them?

Rather than attacking those that work why not deal with the millions of lazy festering scrounging leeches that have infested this country for decades bleeding the country dry year on year. Scrap welfare and furlough and get these lazy sods who have never worked a day in their life and all their lazy mini chavs they bang out for benefit back to work now, plenty of jobs cleaning hotel rooms and picking fruit.

Give people a choice, take those jobs or starve? A benefit cap of 23k tax free you having a laugh make it 0K and you could probably cut income tax to the bare minimum.
So, they pay 23% of the tax bill while controlling more than half of the country's wealth? In that case they're drastically underpaying and need taxing more, closing all loopholes (I.e. no moving abroad or shell companies, you earn wealth in this country, you pay tax on it).

Hows about getting the millions of lazy shysters on welfare who have never paid any tax in their life to contribute to the system for once and I dont mean paying netflix or sky for keeping their butt warm while sipping stella! Or does that thought fail to cross your lack of cerebral architecture? Clearly not monkey head! If you dont want to work you should be given f all or you think somehow being bone idle is a job?

Its quite simple if you havent contributed to welfare why should you be able to claim it muppet?!

28%
surprised you emphasised even larger amount coming from a left winger thats odd.

So the 1% quit the country you lose 28% of tax take then will the tens of millions of economically inactive welfare junkies step up to the plate and contribute to the coffers for once?

The tax rate used to be much higher in the past and anyway tax rates are a false proposition in all of this. The debate always boils down to what should the state provide, how much revenue does it take to provide and then how to get that revenue.

That doesn’t always mean a higher tax rate

Ask any of the people who have travelled through umpteen very safe countries to get to British shores crossing the channel in boats this weeks why they do this, they say 2 words welfare and benefits, this country is most generous to the idle and workshy and they want a piece of it so will skip several safe countries in Europe to get here....

You find it difficult to get welfare...?

You just need to go to your nearest Wetherspoon.

How come you're too dumb to be claiming?
