Surrey or cranfield?

I have been offered place in both Surrey and Cranfield universities in MSc in Business Analytics and Msc in supply chain management respectively. Which university is better to opt? and which university in these specific fields might have better employment opportunities after the program?

Hey supreetn!

Congratulations on your offers!

I'm a PhD student at Cranfield and I also did my Master's here.

Have you look at the Cranfield blogs? Most of the posts are written by students, so you can see what they get up to on the course:

Do you hold an offer for Logistics or Procurement SCM?

The School of Management has been ranked second in the UK for graduate employment outcomes in the DLHE longitudinal survey in 2017. You can find out information on the sort of jobs people go into in the "Careers" section of the course page on our website, so for the Logistics and Supply Chain Management MSc students have gone on to work for Airbus; Tata Consultancy Services; Group Lotus; Adidas; Lidl; BMW Group; Toyota Motors; HelloFresh; KPMG; Kuehne & Nagel; Bentley; Saint Gobain; United Biscuits; Heineken; Eli Lilly UK; Unilever and Deutsche Bank. Their roles have included: Buyer; Supply Chain Analyst; Logistics Manager; Demand Planner and Supply Chain Operations Manager

And of course we gave a dedicated careers department that can help you out, and there are regular training sessions on improving employability.

Hope this helps

Is there anything else you'd like to know? Either about the course or life at Cranfield in general?

The two programmes are very different. Busi analytics is hot as companies realise they have a lot of data and dont know what to do with it. Equally supply chain management is huge - with covid and the spike in online shopping and home deliveries SCM is a hot topic too. There are far fewer companies seeking specialist masters in SCM whilst practically any company would benefit from having someone with a business analytics qualification. Of course, this was all pre-covid and pre-Brexit. Its hard to predict what the job market will be like in 12 months time.
