So I’m about to go to college and need to get the 16-25 railcard but I’m confused how it works.

Do you get 1 railcard and then you never have to buy a ticket again and you can just use that?

Or is it like you still have to buy train tickets they are just discounted?

Pls help xx

so you have the card but what you do is you buy the train ticket and check the bit where it says 16-25 railcard and then you pay the discounted price. when you’re on the train or showing your ticket, they’ll check your railcard.

Still have to buy a ticket but when you do make sure to put you have a 16-25 Railcard as it gives you (I think) 25% off the ticket.

Train conductors may ask to see your Railcard (it's stated if you used a Railcard at the bottom of the ticket) when checking tickets so make sure it's on hand whenever you are on the train.
