Feel constantly like I'm at a disadvantage in many areas because of this.

Doubt there's any disadvantages if you're doing anything tech or math related. If anything you got yourself an advantage over other job candidates due to the stereotyping.

I like being Asian because I have more melanin which protects my skin from UV damage.
you should learn to accept yourself.

Yeah, disadvantage when in a majority white area.
Man went to an area in England just on the outskirts of Wales and me and two other geezers had to ask people questions for our project.
We are all Asian and we asked about 10 people and only 1 bothered to answer the questions (not all of them could have been busy)

Maybe, but I think it'll take a long time and some friends before ever getting near accepting myself fully.

I'm South Asian btw

I don't dislike it no, and I don't think you're at much disadvantage. Asians have been in some of the most well paying and highest positions in the country. The current and previous chancellor's have been asian, as is Home Minister.... what exactly do you feel disadvantaged in?

If your boyfriend is with you, then it's definitely not a disadvantage. He saw you for you and the (probably) amazing things you had to offer, not the colour of your skin or your race/religion/creed, etc
