Stem degree funding

My son became seriously ill and left university after year 2 with a Dip HE.
He will probably never be able to attend university again. If he starts an OU stem degree, would he be able to have funding for this?

Hi there, in order to determine his eligibility, please ask him to answer the below:

1. Which university and course you are looking to start your studies with?
2. How old you are.
3. Your nationality, current status and time spent within the UK.
4. Any previous study and qualifications you may hold. Was you previous study full or part time?

Thanks, Isaac

Thank you Isaac.

He is British , aged 31 and uk resident since birth. He studied full time at Aberystwyth university in Plant Science. After going into multi organ failure, he left at the end of the second year. They awarded him a diploma of higher education. Now, he would like to take an open university degree in biology or natural sciences.

Thanks again.

Good morning, he would be able to get funding for a course that is higher than a DipHE, however the courses you mention are exception courses so his previous study doesn't affect his eligibility. He will only be able to receive a Tuition Fee Loan, no Maintenance Loan unless he has a disability which prevents him from being able to attend a physical university.
Thanks, Isaac

Good Morning Isaac.
He has applied for the tuition fee, but after submitting the form it says that he is not entitled to it. As deadlines are approaching, is there a phone number he could call to speak to someone about this?

Thanks,
