So I applied through clearing for nursing studies with foundation year . 16 days ago 2 days in I got an email saying my application had been referred to the admissions officer for my course I haven’t herd anything since. Anyone else had this problem of having to wait so long to find out if you’ve gotten in?

I'm not an expert, just a mature student applying like you. If I were you I'd ring them tomorrow to chase your application.

If you're still in the system waiting after that then I suspect universities are keeping away from offering places, until results day and they know how many people will be meeting their offers.
I've applied to a few and been asked to send my quals in, then nothing (apart from one uni). It seems they might be hedging their bets a bit.
It sucks when you know an interview is required to be accepted in the first place.
