Is it appropriate to mention gaming in your personal statement? Not as a hobby but as something which introduced you to the subject. Personally, i took it for my GCSE's as I want to learn more about the process of developing games. I then became interested in the subject itself and wanted to do it at university. Is it worth mentioning in my personal statement? Also any other advice for writing the personal statement for computer science will be appreciated
Yes if you tie it into how it has helped your education.

Something like “as a gamer I have a keen interest in understanding how games work and are designed using computers/technological based platforms. This has inspired me/motivated me to pursue ....”

Or something along those lines.

As a top tip... Anything you put into a personal statement should relate back to your subject.
