A quote that I once read just came to my mind again recently.

''Live a good life. If there are Gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are Gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no Gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones'' - Marcus Aurelius

I find comfort in this quote. There are times when I struggle with my own spirituality and question whether there really is anything after this life. It can be a daunting thought to mull over the possibility of there being nothing after we pass on, but Stoicism is helping me to face this doubt head on. Even if there's nothing, I can look back on my life knowing I lived it virtuously. No regrets.

I see western religion and think to myself ''How can a God that is supposed to be the epitome of unconditional love send someone to hell for not believing in them?'' It just doesn't make sense to me. In my eyes, that interpretation of God is unjust. I agree with what Aurelius says about a just God and how they wouldn't punish me for my lack of belief but rather judge me for my actions.

I dunno, just some thoughts I had.

Haha thanks

I'm glad I've made a blog now. I have these types of philosophical thoughts on the daily but had nowhere to express them. Until now that is.
