Hi, anyone applied to Somerville?
I got an offer for Law this morning, and I see quite a few people getting theirs too...

I just wanted to find out who got into Somerville, so that next year, maybe we could all meet...

So post your replies including your course... lets get to know the Somerville ppl...

:frown: Lucky you.

It's one of the nicest college I've seen, too.

It has over 100,000 volumes in it, making it one of the largest college libraries. It's also pretty cool inside, upstairs it has a really great old feel, with even a balcony

(I'm also there already, 1st year PPE)

And in addition to the library being huge and old, as F.Poste said, there are many cool things in it, such as comic books like Asterix and Obelix in Latin, French and English. And it also a separate law room where all of the law books are stored. The room also has some cool antique tables and chairs, where you're guaranteed to spend a lot of time studying.

However, I must tell you that most of my lawyer friends say that the college library does not have all books on their reading list, so you will have to study in the Law Bod very often. Conveniently, it's about 7-10 minutes away if you know the secret route...

I was there helping out, I don't think I met many lawyers but I'm the short one with the long red hair, if you remember seeing me around

Simon is my college brother  And I'll pass on the message to Keren (the lawyer, although I don't think I've spelled her name right..)

In Oxford, there's something called the parenting system.. basically, you're assigned two "parents" in the second year who are there to take care of you when you're first starting out. One of them will usually be doing your subject. You also get college "siblings", who are other first years with the same parents. Simon's my college brother cos my mum's a PPEist

I got an offer from Somerville!! Woo go Somerville! I'll be doing English, if I meet my grades (very worried about that!). I'm going to have to work my little ass off in politics especially, as I got a B in it last year so have to push it up a whole grade! I'm super determined now though!

Congrats Dokebi! Hope to see you at freshers week!
