Anyone here in the Jubilee Campus? Are there any bad things about it? From what Ive heard, it seems really good, but im sure there are some downsides

There could perhaps be a literal "down" side, if the rumours of the sinking library are true.

..Rumour basically has it that they built the library in the middle of a lake, but forgot to account for the weight of the books, and the library is thus sinking by a few centimetres per year.

Out of interest, what is that circular building?

It's okay. Got it's own little community there, and if your degree is based on Jubz, then it's a case of rolling out of bed and into the lecture hall. If you choose to go to Jubilee Campus, hope that you get put in Newark rather than Southall. Newark is far larger, and the bar is nearly always busy every night whereas Southall tends to be a bit quieter.

While I was visiting I was told that the library was sinking but they corrected it. Somehow LOL, I’m a little fuzzy on the specifics. Someone who’s there may want to correct me on that.

Anyway, I’m shooting for Jubilee. I wouldn’t mind being where the quietness is LOL, I’m not a very loud person, to be honest. As far as internet access goes, how do we access the internet? Do we pay for net access in the rooms or is that in with the accommodation price? What about access to public computers there?

You have to pay for internet access in your room, which is around £65-£70 for the whole year. There are two public computers in both halls but there are around 50 computers provided in the library 24/7 but you need ur ID card in order to get into the computer room after 10pm.

Fom my point of view, I would have to say the food isn't really nice. I just don't like it but apart from that everything is fine.

but Newark has so many fire alarms on an average of 2 times a week and if u don't want to get up in the middle of the (cold) nite... pray for Southwell!!!!!!!!!

I am thinking of studying management at nottingham but feel put off by the jubilee campus. Is it better to live on the main campus and travel 10 mins to the lectures??
stay on jubilee. all the dudes on uni park are indy geeks with long hair and childish bum fluff (pretending to ne stubble). all the girls shop at jane norman and r top losers. jubilee is where the party is at. and u have en suite, so u can watch TV while shitting. no-one wants to go to uni park when they realise what it is actually like, the halls r soo drab, theyve been around for 8.5 million years, and they have the warm welcoming enviornment only the most secure correctional facilities can provide.

half of newark last year did courses on uni park and not a single one could be more happier that living at jubilee. twice as many hot chicks, twice as many toasters and kettles, twice as many letter boxes, and twice as many cases of chylmydia. Rock on.
