You just get it delivered to your address as normal post. If you're not in when it's delivered, you'll have to order re-delivery.

Oh. I thought it'd all get delivered to a central hub sort of building. Guess not. Thanks.

I was wondering about getting stuff delivered. Alot of sites won't delivery to uni halls. And some won't deliver if the shipping and billing addresses dont match.

in the traditional halls, there's a box they put letters in in the kitchen. with parcels, the cleaners would usually knock on your room door and if you're not in, go in and leave the parcel on your desk or something. Not sure about Whitendale/ Roeburn etc, but probably the same. Trinity/ Foundry you have a post box by the entrance to the whole building where they post letters, parcels are kept at reception and they leave you a note for when you can collect it.

EDIT: uh, actually, i had a mate in roeburn and he said the postman would knock on the door to your block when you have a parcel and you have to go get it, if you're not there you can't get it. Dunno about couriers and big stuff.

Normal post would go back to the delivery centre on Christian Road, its down the long windy road across from the council buildings, nr the traffic lights.

I cant understand why a company would send such an expensive item out using normal post though....

Do you have to change all ur bank info and things so that it shows your new adress?

^ I havent, i get most post still sent home and just get it re-directed to my uni place.
When it comes to getting things delivered from online or something, i just leave the billing address and home and get it delivered to my uni place.
what abouttt,
Takeaway? Do they deliver this to Uni halls?
Reply 9
Yeh they do. Drum Stix give free delivery to anyone in halls. Which is abit rubbish for those students in houses. We plan to order then drive to campus when its on its way
lmaoo xD is it really worth the petrol? when you could jst pay the delivery fee aha?
i ordered to halls when i was visiting from CHina Rose and i didnt realise i gave him a twenty ... it was eight pounds and i said not to worry about the change, thinking it was only two pounds.... china rose owe me bad. oh dominos deliver to halls.. 25%off for students too  found that out the other week!
aha awesomess, my actual home is only 30 minutes away from the uni by train/car so anything i want delivered can be sent home first were it will be safer then my dad can run it up.

Not my petrol! Haha!
I doubt we'll ever do that. Its just a theory we came up with.

China Rose is AMAZING!
aha i shall keep that in mind when it comes to moving in, I will have a celebratory take away from there for me going to Uni
china rose is rather nice, but im being spoilt by the new buffet, centro.
Most places offer free delivery, but often charge more for the food (like chesters, which i love)
I like to walk, makes me enjoy the food more.
In uni halls like ribble, the mail would often go missing if you dont lock your mail box, (you had to provide your own padlock in Ribble)
i dont know what it is called but my girlfriends sister took her to a place that does an all you can eat buffet which was cool, some Chinese place

Hey guys, so what about actual post? I mean all big deliveries from home by regular post. I have a lot of books I will need when studying, but I'm not taking all of them with me on the flight. Can I get them delivered later to Boatman's Court, do they deliver big packages to Uni Halls?
Reply 18
You can get them delivered, yes. Not sure how it works in Boatman's though, this is the first year they've been used for Freshers.
Reply 19
It'll be the same, the halls are delivered to directly by the Royal Mail so if you arent in, they will leave a card telling you where to collect from.
