Morning everyone!!!

Just wanted to send all those A-level students getting their results this morning lots of luck and love. I know this is such a difficult time for many, but regardless of what happens today, please try and remember your results today are one chapter of your story and there are loads of options available to get where you want to go - there genuinely is no wrong path. We're all here to support you.

Time for some Fleetwood Mac:

If you wake up and don't want to smile
If it takes just a little while
Open your eyes and look at the day
You'll see things in a different way

Why not think about times to come?
And not about the things that you've done
If your life was bad to you
Just think what tomorrow will do

I love this song.

Good luck to all ! As has been said, no matter what happens you can still achieve such amazing things #NoWrongPath
:grouphugs: I know first hand what it's like and don't mind if anyone wants a chat or anything about how they are feeling
You're not alone in this and you're all amazing :yy:
Hi everybody!!

Good luck to everybody!! I know how terrifying this day is, but please remember you are worth so much more than what is written on a piece of paper/your phone screen. If it doesn’t go as expected, there are so many options out there for you! As stated previously, there is No Wrong Path, and you will find that path best suited for you!!

Well done to everyone who got their results today, it hasn't been an easy year, and you should be proud of yourself - no matter the grades you got!

I didn't meet the grades I needed for university when I got my A-levels, and instead decided to do a Marketing apprenticeship. Years later, I'm in a job I enjoy and don't regret a thing.

Don't worry - things have a way of working out for the best! You always have options and there is #NoWrongPath. Sending lots of good vibes and support. :h:
Best of luck to everyone, and well done for your results, whatever they may be! :hugs:

Not going to lie but grades do kinda decide your future (for like the majority of people).

Absolutely, they close some doors and open others. Medicine (for example) is a hard path to follow give the criteria for certain grades and test scores etc. So in many ways grades do define what you cannot do, but they don't define much beyond that - which pales in significance to the cast number of other careers, sectors, courses and qualifications that could be the next steps for students receiving their results this summer.

They have a short term impact,
but hard work & perseverance goes a lot lot further then anything AQA can tell you.

Yes maybe they don't outweigh hard work in the end but short term impact is critical. You could not get the grades you need and have to either retake A-levels or do a foundation year at Uni. That is one whole year of your life you need to effecitvely waste because of your lower grades. In my opinion anyway.

I think 'wasting' time is something best reflected on in hindsight to be honest. It's hard to tell at the time. I did a year of a degree then changed to a different one and I felt like I'd 'wasted' that year, but actually, it turned out to be one of the best things I ever did because it set me on the right path and taught me what I really wanted. It's all a matter of individual perspective I think.
