Clearing tip!! Dont forget your "extras"

Ringing round uni clearing today we initially gave details of just A level grades.
Having been unsuccessful at an RG uni we remembered his grade 6 clarinet exam- worth 8 ucas points.
Rang uni back again and this was the thing that dragged him over the line, got him through to " the supervisor" and secured possibly the best offer of the day!
So remember any Dance/ music / similar qualifications as this could pull you up by the one grade you need!!
Good luck out there!!

No idea of the uni or course, but wouldnt suprise me if the thing that got you through was actually talking to the course organiser and persistence to show you wnated to get on the course. Only certain unis use ucas points these days. Glad your child found somewhere that you are happy with.
Spoke to different person in clearing centre each time. Never got as far as the department or offering son' s details the first 2 times so not sure how they would have known it was re the same applicant to appreciate the persistence.
The additional 8 ucas points were key as the operator responded with " so he has x ucas points then?"
