No. Look at the prospectus or website, some colleges give you a test, others want written work, most want you to do the TSA.
Here's the page. http://www.cam.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/courses/economics/tests.html

"Courses Requiring STEP
University of Cambridge (C05)
BCF0 Natural Sciences
G100 Mathematics
G400 Computer Science
H100 Engineering
H810 Chemical Engineering (via Engineering)
L100 Economics "

This confused me a bit as it isn't mentioned in the cambridge website.
Ah that is confusing :s
I'd go with the Cambridge website
Plus I was speaking to someone a couple months ago, he' just got into Cambridge for Economics, about how horrible the STEP exam was and he said he was glad he doesn't have to do it...

I hope thats not true :s-smilie:
I'm gonna try and find out lol
But they didn't mention it in their prospectus
To be honest I would never have expected this especially when you consider the cambridge course is a BA... I think?

Even Maths itself is a BA at Cambridge, which is more sensible to my mind.

Woah... did not know that. :colondollar:
Then again my research into oxford/cambridge was somewhat limited and now isn't necessary. :o:
P.S. Haven't seen you on here in ages... if you can work out/know who I am. :wavey:

Surely someone must know?
^Email them and ask for yourself.
A few of my friends are Econ. grads from Cambridge (Trinity, St Johns, churchill). None of them did STEP, but that was a long time ago.

phone up and ask.

I can assure everyone that STEP is not required for Economics...stop creating confusion.

I'm confused myself to be honest. How do you explain the contents of post #3? That's what confused me anyhow!

They're wrong, it's a mistake...

Gonville and Caius only want the TSA, and they're one of the harder ones to get in to.

This is from the Economics teacher there as well.

Engineering and Medicine aren't. Neither is Vet Med. But yeah, most courses
are BA.

Would STEP increase your chances of being applied to cambridge economics?
