Seeing the big picture application question

I'm applying for a job in the Civil Service and this question is on the competencies section. The description is something like "understand how your role fits in with with the organisation" etc. and I don't know whether this means my current role or the role I'm applying to?

I'm having the same thoughts... no idea how I could prepare an example for this one! In general though, I'm not sure what kind of questions they could ask for 'seeing the bigger picture' other than 'When have you demonstrated your ability to see the bigger picture?' Any ideas?
