Due to being ill I have been granted exceptional circumstances but can no longer complete my Masters. I'd like to actually change subjects from Graphic Design to Social Work. Is it possible to change courses. I'd stay at the same university. My tuition fee has already been paid via loan.

Basically I can't complete the course I'm on and would like to change courses. Is it possible to do has anyone had experiences with health issues and incomplete courses?

Thanks

If you never started the masters course then you can ask to switch, I don't see why they wouldn't allow it unless you don't meet the requirements.

If you've already done part of the masters then you would need to pay your tuition again, although if you dropped out fairly early there may still be some tuition left to contribute towards this.

You're better off contacting the uni for the best answer though, anything said on here is largely going to be guesswork as different unis or even departments will decide different things on this.

If you are too ill to comnplete one then why would you be any better under the other?
I think you would need to make a compelling personal reasons claim to sfe.

I recently got very ill and have no interest in my Masters course and have been unable to complete it. I would like to change it to Social Work instead of Graphic Design. Is it possible to change courses? My loan has already been paid to university.

You need to ask the Uni, but basically no, you can't change a course midway. You'd have to restart at the beginning of the year and complete a full course, so additional fees would be due.

If you completed semester 1 then the course fees are non-retrievable. You can ask to get back some of the S2 fees if you are sure you want to drop out. It's at the discretion of the uni.

That’s a big move to a different subject!
Fees are usually non refundable but best to check with the uni itself as to the policies and procedures!
