When did you know about the appointment?
Did you know you had work when you booked the appointment? If so, that’s bad handing on your part. Do you really need to take the whole day off? If so, unless it’s a medical emergency as in your skin is really really really bad to the point it could affect your work etc, then work takes priority. Reschedule your dermatologist appointment to a day when you don’t have work
