When you said nuclear engineering, two words came into mind: Chernobyl and Hazmat suit.
Funny you didn't think about Fukushima

hello!! i'm nat :,)
GCSE Grades: 99998888777 + pass in level 3 algebra!

Are you satisfied with your grades? yes! i am ecstatic, they were exactly what i wanted!

What subjects are you studying for A-Levels/BTECs? I'm doing Maths, Spanish, History and an EPQ for A Levels

How are you feeling about starting Year 12? Nervous, but almost shaking with anticipation. I am super excited to try a new school and meet new people. Very excited though!

Any plans for the next year? I'm hoping to get really involved with my new school and just enjoy it! Maybe start a club or something. I also want to keep organised so that I can juggle the step up from GCSE with normal life things haha.

Any plans made yet for what you will do after A-Levels/BTECs? Ooof, not really. I know that I want to go to university, although I'm not sure what I would study. Possibly history, or if I went to oxford (big if), I like the look of the PPL degree so who knows? I'm also thinking about possibly owning a business one day?

How was Year 11 for you? Year 11 was amazing. It honestly went by too fast, the teachers were so much friendlier and calm about everything (i adore my history teacher, she had a heart of gold). it's such a shame though because I only became close with my current best friend at the beginning of Year 10, and I wish I could have finished this year with her. I'm so amazed that I'm in Year 12 already though, until now it all seemed so surreal!

Any hobbies/interests? I love to bake for my family (and decorate their cakes!), write, watch films with spanish subtitles, and read! This doesn't really count as a hobby, but I love playing the Wikipedia link hop game with my sister haha.

How was your lockdown? Wild!! I didn't really go out at all (still pretending we're in total lockdown because my dad is shielding), but there were points where cabin fever really set in and I couldn't sleep at all! It was really weird actually; I'm glad that it's over (although panic baking cookies at 5am wasn't so bad!) i also had to send a birthday parcel full of gifts to my other sister who lives 8 hours away, watching her open everything on facetime :\

Some random questions:
How long do you think it will take to get a CoVid-19 vaccine, if there will ever be one? I think if all the conspiracies are fake (who do we believe at this point?) then it will be possible, but not until next year to make sure that it's truly safe.
Do you like the summer or the winter? Winter! Christmas is my favourite time of year
Do you think marmite should be banned? Not entirely, because it makes some people happy -- but definitely banned from my house haha
Do you like Tea or Coffee? Tea! If I ever have coffee, it's in a mocha haha - tea is much more pleasant :,)

Nah mate, the love I have for the 2 cannot be described in words. The strong scent of the coffee compliments the aromatic odour of tea so, I cant choose hehe😋

GCSE Grades(if you would like to share them)
5 (Art/Drama) 6 (Bio) 7 (Economics) 8(Chem,Physics,Eng Lang, Eng Lit) 9 (Geog, Maths)

Are you satisfied with your grades?
For the most part very! I'm a bit annoyed by economics cause I would have gotten higher, unfortunately my last mock was a 7 which I messed up my revision for oops, so it is fair I guess. Biology I think my entire class was shafted by our teacher who was believed to dreadfully undermark us generally. Art I'm happy with I could of possibly scraped a 6 but that would have been a push  . Drama is the one that would have varied the most as I did well practically but unfortunately being Autistic really doesn't help for a written exam that is on body language hehehe (honestly depending on the questions there is a possibility I wouldn't have passed the written exam tho the lowest I ever got was a 4 but I think my teacher may have been generous on that test XD) . I am so happy with all my other grades though!!! Maths I thought I was gonna get an 8 for sure and Physics a 7 so I'm over the moon about them.

What subjects are you studying for A-Levels/BTECs
Maths, Further Maths, Physics as A-levels and Engineering as a BTEC

How are you feeling about starting Year 12?
Nervous but excited. I have a pretty hectic year this year and the year after outside of normal schoolwork, so it will be rly interesting how I cope with this heh.

Any plans for the next year?
Raise enough money to get an assistance dog and to do my ACT test and possibly my SAT 2 tests (Lvl2 Maths and Physics) which may just edge into yr 13. Possibly also do well in VEX Robotics but that may be pushing it

Any plans made yet for what you will do after A-Levels/BTECs?
Go to Uni either here or the USA to study CS or some form of Engineering ( that's what my BTEC will hopefully allow me to decide)

How was Year 11 for you?
Okay. Unfortunately, early in the year, my processing dropped completely so I didn't do as well as I should of in my December mocks and so I was put in for extra time which I got but didn't necessarily want. In January, I finally after a 1.5yr wait or so got my Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) diagnosis and was referred onto to CAMHS for OCD and Anxiety, which so far hasn't been the best but it's CAMHS so... Went to VEX nationals in Feb after practically being mistreated by my teammate who decided to join my team the November prior. I was one of the only people on the trip that seemingly enjoyed due to multiple reasons external to myself. I also stacked it up the stairs on the stands in front of a lot of people the day before we left and ****ed my leg up. It was painful but I found the entire situation hilarious especially after my closest friends ****ed up her lip and me and her sat on the 2 sofa's opposite each other and absolutely lost it. Did annoy the TA and YHA person who had to fill out some paperwork, at least we got out of packing up . Later in the year I went to the dr's about joint pain and stiffness multiple times. First time was before Nats, had a blood test, came back fine except Vit D deficiency which I was then medicated for, for 7 weeks. Then went back after it didn't go away got told it was growth and bones hardening which made me feel a bit dysphoric. Considering I haven't grown in nrly 3/4 yrs I found that hard to believe and I'm pretty sure bone hardening doesn't cause pain that has at that point gone on for 6 months (which is at that point by most definitions considered chronic) and stiffness to the point where at certain points I couldn't walk home and it's only a 15min walk. Then lockdown happened, and we had another conversation with a different dr who referred me on to a rheumatologist who then referred me for more in-depth bloods and x-rays. Bloods and X-rays both came out fine which is somewhat bad cause it means I have to go on for more testing but rules out a lot of bad conditions, so that is good. So now I'm waiting for an in-person appointment for a month and it will probs be a few more till I get it. This is fine until you realise most joint problems get a 100x worse in the winter. I also submitted PIP a month or so ago and still don't have an appointment or even a follow-up text from the DWP in a while-which is always concerning. But generally, besides that this year has been absolutely brilliant and I can't wait to go back to school!!

Any hobbies/interests?
I have a special interest in Assistance dogs and Star Wars and a slowly depleting SI in birds. I have general interests in Minecraft and am an artist. I'm heavily involved in fandom and am a furry (haha very funny, not like that god). I like to program as well but JSON makes me want to cry. With Star Wars, I really like the ships (my favourites are the T-70 X-Wing (Black One especially), Republic Gunship, Venator and the Ghost) and the CW. I'm also an avid fan of the Rexin Around Show Podcast and Always Believe. The RA show really helps a lot with stuff and always cheers me up, they are such a laugh.

How was your lockdown?
Pretty boring, killed my executive functioning a bit at the end. My anxiety generally got better until the threat of change started to loom. It's generally been pretty neutral.

For those with GYGs, feel free to link them...
Not yet... Probably not ever

Some random questions:

How long do you think it will take to get a CoVid-19 vaccine, if there will ever be one?
I'm sure there will be. It is somewhat concerning how fast the process has gone with the possible long-term side effects unknown or at least based on similar vaccines. I think it will be at least till next yr till we even see anything being used generally and even that's a stretch. I would expect it will be more like the Spanish Flu where it just kinda eventually goes though there may be a vaccine towards the end of it. I would also expect that sooner or later there may be more effective drugs to help alleviate symptoms before a vaccine comes into circulation.

Do you like the summer or the winter?
Before my joints I preferred winter but now I'm pretty neutral on it. There is a reason I want to leave the UK and the weather is one of them!

Do you think marmite should be banned?
Absolutely not! That would be treason!

Do you like Tea or Coffee? (Only one choice permitted!)

Tea, obviously, what do you take me for? (more specifically PG tips or Yorkshire Tea)

Hello 👋
Grades: 9 9s, a B and a D* in a btec (if they use cags for those) - I was genuinely elated with the grades!
Subjects I'm going to study: English Literature, Economics and Classics
Feelings about starting year 12: Mixed sense of fear and excitement after watching all those sixth form YouTube videos.
Any plans for next year: lol no, I'm not sure what Corona will do next, hopefully it goes.
Plans after A-levels/BTECs: Hopefully going to university to study Law.
How was Year 11 for you? It was interesting, became a bit more stressful towards the end, before it was obviously cut short.
Hobbies/interests: If watching Netflix is a hobby, then yes 😎. But I'm trying to learn how to play the keyboard (lowkey starting to give up).
How was lockdown? It was okay; a bit boring at times but I got to spend more time with the family.

GCSEs: 7 9s and 3 8s
Are you satisfied: initially I was happy but after seeing everyone get straight 9s, not so much. I have hopes of oxbridge and go to private schl so they’re not even that great contextually.

A level subjects: English lit, French, histiry, politics, epq

How are you feeling about starting year 12: very excited but nervous

Any plans for next year?
Just gonna go with the flow

Any plans for post a level? Study histiry at a top tier uni

Year 11 experience: I worked really hard and I don’t feel that was fully reflected in my results but it took a lot of strength to get thru it.

Hobbies: baking, hockey, badminton

Lockdown:
Honestly had a a great tune with friends

Vaccine? We won’t get one fir a long time, there’ll just be treatments that will massively reduce the seriousness of it and it’ll become more like the common cold

NO MARMITE 2020

coffee or tea: iced coffee > tea > hot coffee
