Special Support Element

Hello,
Will I know if I am entitled to this, or is this something I need to ask specifically for? I cannot find anything on my student finance application form that indicates where to apply for this, but being a lone parent, with housing element, I'm fairly sure I would qualify, the extra help would mean the difference between working 3 shifts a week during full time study, and only needing 1 or 2, so it would help a great deal!
